Furry Friend

For this week's Pebbles Inc. blog posts, we were asked to scraplift a LO from one of our co-DTs. I chose a LO by Jennifer Yates featuring the Cats & Dogs line. I love Jennifer's scrapping style...always fresh and fun and happy...

For this LO, I particularly loved how she used circles to create a border and made my version using one of the Pebbles border stickers. Tiara Girls

I made this LO for Color Combos Galore Challenge #177 only to find out that what looked like a dark purple on my screen was supposed to be black. But I still love how this LO turned-out. It's not my usual style, since it has very little bits of patterned paper but it is refreshing to go shabby chic every now and then...it's a great way to use up my stash too!

My little girls love to do anything crafty...wonder where they got that from?...and saw these DIY tiaras in one of their craft books...they immediately insisted on making them...who would've thought tin foil tiaras could be so cool???

Title: Tiara Girls
Materials: Cardstock - Wassau; Patterned papers - Graphic 45, Sasafras Lass; Trim - Webster's Pages; Chipboard - Dusty Attic; Paint - Making Memories; MIst - Tattered Angels; Transparency - Hambly; Flower - Prima; Metal Alpha and tiles - Joann; Journal diecut - Daisy Ds; misc lace and heart charm; pen - American Crafts; punch - Martha Stewart; ink - Tsukineko; rub-on - 7 Gypsies; pompom lace - Fancy Pants

Scrap FIT Workout #38

Our challenge for Workout #38 is to scrap the winter blues away with a bright and cheery color palette of green-yellow-orange-red-white....not that we have winter over here, but the weather has been dreary as well with unexpected rains in the off season so it was really nice to do a sunshiny LO.
Title: Perfect Getaway
Materials: Cardstock, foam and chipboard letters, pen, rub-ons - American Crafts; Patterned papers - Sassfras Lass, KI Memories, Bella Blvd; Sticker - Bella Blvd; Ink - Tsukineko

You can use any shade of the colors mentioned and you have until February 28th to link your entry to our Mr. Linky here for this Workout.  You also have time to join in on Workout #37 Dream A Little Dream.  Winners from both Workout 37 & 38 will be anounced on March 1st. You could be the lucky winner of a great kit from Lucky Girl Crafts or a FITkit from ScrapFIT

It's Almost V-Day!

In celebration of Valentine's Day tomorrow, Color Combos Galore features a very fitting palette this week.
It is very rare for me to use colors that are these bold so, as usual, I rely on simplicity of design to create maximum impact. I am so glad I found these KI Memories sheers in my stash...I forgot I even had them...And this photo is another one that I've been meaning to scrap but just hadn't had time to do before now...

Title: ABC of Love
Materials: Cardstock - Wassau, American Crafts; Sheers - KI Memories; Foam Letters - American Crafts; Tiny Alpha - Making Memories; misc floss

You have until this Friday to participate in this week's challenge...go and create one for your love now! I hope you all spend tomorrow with someone you love!!!

Summer in the Big Apple

Here's a long over-due LO from our trip to New York last summer. We're lucky that my 2 sisters share a huge (by NY standards) apartment and they let us stay with them for a week...I have a feeling though that the invite is only open if we have the kids with us...
It's funny though, because if you ask my kids what they love most about NY, they will tell you that it's the apartment -- they got so tired of all the walking to the subway and back (it's 5 blocks to 57th and Lexington) -- they were excited to go out each morning but were more excited to get back home asap where the doting aunts would let them watch TV, play games on their laptops and let them eat whatever they want.
Title: Summer in the Big Apple
Materials: Cardstock- DCWV, American Crafts; Patterned Paper- Nikki Sivils; Making Memories Slice machine; Foam alpha - American Crafts; Buttons - Nikki Sivils; Small alpha stickers - Nikki Sivils
Journaling: We spent a week in New York and can't wait to get back. May 2010

This LO uses the new Summer line from Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker which has a really fun color palette...I hear all of Nikki's new lines have sold out and she has had to re-print already...woohoo!!! I also followed a sketch from Sketches for Scrapbooking by Allison Davis and Debbie Sanders.
The apples were the last things I cut from my Slice machine before it unceremoniously died on me -- not really, but started cutting really weird shapes and the Making Memories Customer Service says since it's past the warranty period I would have to pay $19.99 for check-up on top of shipping it to the US and then an unknown amount if it is fixable...tsk tsk. So I will have to do a "big think" on this one as I have almost 30 design cards, but am not keen on investing in another MM machine if it only lasts 2 years...what to do, what to do....and I did love my Slice machine to bits until this all happened...

Make A Wish

Here's my 1st LO for Scrapfit Challenge blog. For Workout #37, we were asked to scrap about our dreams or goals. It took me forever to think of what mine is...and shallow as it may be...the only thing that I really, truly want right now (because I am already so blessed to have everything else) is to lose weight!

Title: Make A Wish
Materials: Cardstock - Wassau; Patterned papers - Sassafras Lass, American Crafts; Die-cuts - Daisy Ds; Mist - Tattered Angels; Number Stickers - October Afternoon; Pen - American Crafts; Dymo label maker; Misc lace

If you've barely made a dent in your scrapbooking goals for 2011, this is a great challenge to start with. I hope you can join us here and you have until the end of this month to submit your LO.
