Butterfly Wishes

My 2nd TI Botanical Bliss LO for Scrapbukan. I'm so happy to finally be able to scrap this photo of Bianca -- it's been in my photo box for a year!

I knew which photo to use almost as soon as I saw this paper. The most difficult part was to decide how to do the title and the journaling since I didn't want to cover-up the big beautiful flower. I am so into butterflies right now...

Check out Scrapbukan's Inspiration page for complete how-to instructions.

Title: Butterfly Wishes

Journaling: May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun, and find your shoulder to light on; To bring you luck, happiness and riches, today, tomorrow and beyond.

Materials: Tinkering Ink papers and diecuts, Autumn Leaves & Fontwerks stamps, Staz-On and Tsukineko stamping inks, Making Memories paint, Stickles, Provo Craft glitter, misc bling

Sunshine After The Rain

Did this 1st Tinkering Ink Botanical Bliss LO for Scrapbukan last week. I usually find Tinkering Ink papers very challenging to work with because of the very bold prints, and this was no different. But now I realize that once you find the right photo and concept for the LO, everything else is easy.

I finished a 2nd TI LO the next day but I can't post it yet until it's out on the Scrapbukan site.

Materials Used: Tinkering Ink paper and die-cut, Fontwerks stamp, American Crafts rub-ons, Staz-on & Ancient Page ink, Fancy Pants chipboard, Making Memories paint, Jo-ann label holder and metal alphabets, Doodlebug brads

Travel Stamps from Absolument Scrap

Just got my 1st stamp set from Absolument Scrap today -- I got the Travel set for September. I didn't realize how big the set was until I saw it. A full A4 (8.3 x 11.7 inches) that is packed sardine-style -- 48 stamps in all!

Other stamps claim to be A4 but their sets have a lot of white space -- so the stamps cover less than 50% of the page.

This stamp set is loaded -- 6 journaling blocks (that's already 1 set from others), 6 swirls/flourishes, 17 words, plus 19 other images -- easily 4 stamp sets worth from other brands! They also sent me a cling foam sheet to use with it. Can't wait to play!

CX Cheap Thrill

I was going through my Inbox 2 days ago and came upon the latest CX Newsletter. Just before I closed the message I glanced at the bottom of the page and saw my transparency LO featured there. There was no mention of anything but it was nice to see it there anyway.

Scrapbytes Sept 2007

Finally, the Sept 2007 issue of Scrapbytes has been uploaded!

Very sorry for the delay. I did finish my part of the upload at 4am last Saturday, but apparently, the upload guys aren't available on week-ends -- I could've slept earlier if I had known! Haha!

I only realized that this was Scrapbytes 1st Anniversary issue as I worked on the upload, we thought it wasn't until next month. But this is a jam-packed issue nonetheless. Thanks to all those who contributed -- Mia, Helga, Anna, Pia, Timi, Liza, Cabbie, Addie, Sienna, Joanne, Faith, Em, Christine!

Bad Girls - Color Theory

Classes at Bad Girls Academy started last week and our assignment for the 1st week is Color Theory. You should check out the Color Theory Gallery -- the LOs are awesome -- don't know how long I'll be in this class!

Me, I'm definitely a PINK girl, and so is Nadya. Here's my submission for this week.

Title: Happy Birthday

My daughter is a total PINK girl and no other color will do for this photo taken on her 5th birthday. The color pink in all its variations is sweet, spunky, fun, girly, romantic and dreamy all at the same time -- which is exactly what my daughter is.

Journaling: Today you turned a "small" 5, but to me that's already way too "big"! If only I can stop time & keep you this way forever! Happy Birthday Princess! 7-20-07

Materials: Fancy Pants - paper, chipboard bracket, die-cut tags; My Mind's Eye - paper, die-cut tags; Around the Block paper; Heidi Swapp & Lil Davis chipboard alphabets; Basic Grey metal frame; Autumn Leaves & A Million Memories stamps, Ancient Page ink, Stickles glitter glue, Lil Davis and Making Memories paints; Prima flower; Zig & Sakura pens; Jo-ann metal tags & pin, Doodlebug brads, Miscellaneous bling & lace; Digital frame by Rhonna Farrer from 2Peas

Belated Happy Birthday Bianca!

Bianca turned 2 years old a week ago on Sep. 3. She had difficulty deciding on which character to have for her breakfast cake -- Dora, Barney, Mickey, Pooh, Powerpuff, Minnie, Blue -- but Mommy finally decided on Minnie Mouse.

Since her party wasn't held until last Sat, Sep. 8, we celebrated the day by having lunch at Jollibee (where else?) after picking Nadya up from school. After her nap, we went to Fun Ranch and stayed there for dinner. Luis had no classes that day because it was their rest day after exams.

When we got home that night, she found our old film and digital cameras and thought they were the coolest toys -- I guess it's obvious she's the daughter of a scrapbooker and click-happy Mommy!

Here are a few pictures from that day.

Scrapstreet.com's Discovery Drive

My feature in Scrapstreet.com's Discovery Drive for the Sept 2007 issue is finally out. I worked on these LOs non-stop over a period of 4 days since they wanted LOs that have never been seen or, at least, taken down from online galleries. I've lost track of some of the LOs I've posted in online galleries so I decided to create new ones. However, I can't post the LOs here until the next issue comes out.

This is what Lindsey had to say:

Welcome to this month’s ride on Discovery Drive. This month, we asked Ria to meet us here and to stop and chat with us. She showed us some of her amazing work. She chose 4 layouts, but in those 4 there is more versatility than in most artists’ entire portfolios. It’s easy to fall in love with the surprises she keeps in every layout she creates; whether it’s hidden journaling, a knack for photos with depth or color that pops right through you, her pages are filled – and I mean filled!! – with delightful eye candy. Thank you, Ria, for stopping by and letting us get to know you; it was a pleasure both in chat and art!

Versatile -- maybe that's the closest word to describe my style -- which can go any which way, depending on my mood. Thanks Lindsey for this great opportunity!
