B is for Bianca

Did this budget LO for Scrapbukan a month ago.

Bianca is growing up so fast and is an extremely active little girl. She's doing things that Luis and Nadya never even attempted so we can't leave her alone for fear that she'll break something, or worse, hurt herself.

And to think we barely have any break-able items displayed in our home. We used to have a vase with nice paper flowers but that fell when she reached over for a picture frame last week.

Check out the picture frames and you'll see that the edges are all taped together because she's reached for them so many times!

And she's learned to jump at Little Gym so she's literally bouncing around the house. Haha!

Title: B is for Bianca

Journaling: Bianca, you are all this and so much more! Photo Nov '06
Words - beautiful, big, blessing, bubbly, boundless, bouncy, bold, bashful, baby

Materials: MME Signature Life pp, Making Memories Misundertsood Foam Stamp and acrylic paint, Anceint Page ink, EK Success & Hampton Art alpha stamps, Technique Tuesday stamp (Beautiful), Autumn Leaves barcode & journaling stamps, Creative Imaginations brads, Zig pen, misc twill and burlap ribbon

MomWorks!

Talk about cheap thrills.

Working Mom magazine and the Lifestyle Network have a new project -- a show called "MomWorks" which is supposed to be a TV version of the magazine.

They asked the Scrappin Moms to work on scrapbook-style LOs for the OBB/CBBs (opening billboard/closing billboards).

However, they were in need of a mom to use for the photos in the LOs and asked me to do it (talk about them being desperate!).

We (my family & I) had our photo shoot last June 21 at the Serendra 2 Sales Pavilion with Jeff Lopez as photographer.

Now, I know for sure that I'm not cut-out to be a model -- I just can't figure out how to do a "knowing smile" -- the kind where I don't show any teeth! Haha!

But it was quite an experience -- the make-up and all the costume changes were the best parts! Plus I got some really great pics out of it -- which I yet need to have printed and to scrap.

As usual, my feeling-guapo hubby wowed them all with his natural good looks and killer smile:) Why do people always express surprise when they see how good-looking my hubby is??? Match naman kami diba?

Joanne and I worked on the LOs the week after -- 8 LOs in all with materials sponsored by Scrapbukan. We used the Crate Paper Savannah kit with matching Crateboard for this project.

Momworks airs every Friday in August at 10pm on the Lifestyle Network (Ch 47).

As an added bonus, they used one of my photos for the Innerworks page in the August issue of Working Mom magazine, as well.

Looks like I'm going to be spending the next 4 Friday nights at home.

Imagination Project at ACOT!

Woohoo! This should be enough to get me out of the scrapbooking rut I've been in, these past 2 weeks.

I entered one of my all-time favorite LOs "2 of a Kind" at A Cherry On Top's Imagination Project contest and not only did it win, it was also featured in the ACOT Creative Team Spotlight Vol 15.

Happy Birthday Nadya!

Belated, actually. Been so busy this week preparing for Nadya's party last Friday. The photos on the tarp are by Blow-Up Babies taken last Nov '06.

I made this Disney Princess castle cake for her. I saw a kit on the net and tried to create it from scratch.
The bottom layer is a real 14" chocolate cake while the top layer is styropore. I printed the princesses on a transparency.

We also had a scrapbooking activity and prepared 50+ kits for her guests -- whew! The 6-7 year olds did ok on their own, but all that the 4-5 yr old kids did was to push their yayas and/or parents to work faster so that they can get a prize! Haha!

Scrappin' Moms in Umagang Kay Ganda

Excuse the poor video capture (and the background noise -- yaya and Bianca getting excited). My Skycable connection decided to get fuzzy yesterday and it has not yet been fixed despite our call to Customer Service. This made an already hectic week-end even more so but I think it was worth it because we successfully recruited Gigi, the mom who needed help with her pictures, and even the segment producers to start scrapbooking!

Only April, Liza and I were available for this interview. Hopefully, next time Joanne, Pia and Sienna can make it, too!

Ally Scraps GDT for January '08!

I made Honorable Mention at the recent Ally Scraps DT Search -- yipee!!!

After seeing the LO entries of those that made it to the DT, I cannot believe that I even made it to HM! Their LOs are something else.

Here's the email I received yesterday morning:

From: Cathy Phillips
To: Ria Mojica
Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2007 12:07:31 PM
Subject: AllyScraps Design Team Honorable Mention

Hi Ria! Thanks so much for submitting to the design team call for AllyScraps. We loved your layouts and although you were not chosen as a member of our new design team, we are happy to have named you an honorable mention winner!!! :)

We would love you to be an honorary/guest design team member for the month of January at AllyScraps. During that time you would get a regular design team kit, place your layouts in the Design Team gallery and be an active part of our team. We hope that you will consider it.

The requirements would be to do 4 layouts during your month with the kit we provide, posting them in the gallery in weekly increments throughout the month. We would also like you to be a regular and active poster to our message board.

Please let me know if you will accept this position for the month of January. If so, I will get back to you soon with more details. Thanks again for your interest in AllyScraps and congratulations!

Dana DiGennaro

P.S. Please keep this a secret until tomorrow, when we will post an announcement on the AllyScraps message board. :)

So this is how it feels when you compete with some of the best scrappers out there and find out you're not so bad, after all.

It Was Splash!

Erica sent me a copy of the newsletter which said that Bianca's "Splash" LO was the one they chose.
This week:
Contest News:
I'm sure everyone is waiting to hear who won the Summer Layout Contest....
Summers Flippin Fun by eyesforscrappin and Splash by Ria Mojica

Congratulations ladies!

I'd also like to mention Sasha Farina's layout titled "
Nothing Great". Awesome layout. There is a small runner-up prize for you. Look for your prize packs in the mail this week!

We have another contest in the works, this time featuring Technique Tuesday. If you'd like a chance to win some of their new stamps, this is your chance. This contest will run through the end of the month. Show us your layouts/projects using Technique Tuesday stamps. No theme, no restrictions, just your most creative way of using the stamps! Upload your ideas to the Gallery in the TT Contest area for your chance to win. Please list all products used, especially the stamps sets.
Of course, we've already placed our pre-order with TT for some of their new products debuting later this month. In addition to the contest, we will be running a special on their stamps. For every $50 you spend on TT Stamps, you will receive a Limited Edition stamp set. Look for more information on that as soon as we get our order in!

I love this photo of Bianca, and to think it was taken with a point & shoot camera and I had to crop it really close to get the expression on her face.

Check it out here.

Your Scrapbook Stash

Can't believe I didn't open this email yesterday when it arrived in my Inbox. I was just cleaning out my Inbox when I saw this:

From: Erica Weinstock

Subject: YourScrapbookStash.com Contest Winners!

Hello ladies! If you haven't already seen the Newsletter that went out this morning, you are the winners of the summer contest. I now need your addresses so I can send you the prizes you've won!

Your layouts will be up on the Home Page of the store for the rest of the month!

Congratulations!
-- Erica Weinstock
http://www.yourscrapbookstash.com/
Where we stash it so you don't have to!

This is so cool because I didn't have to make a new LO for this contest. Problem is, for some reason I didn't get the newsletter so I have no idea which of the LOs I submitted actually won (I sent in everything that had anything to do with summer)!

There are supposed to be 2 winners for a prize pack that includes a Sassafras Lass T-shirt and a Gift Certificate to the store. Woohoo!

So if anybody got a copy of the newsletter -- please, please, please send me a copy.

Tagged Again!

Jen just tagged me.
1. Food you hate - I'll probably eat anything as long as it's not dog or cat. Can't think of anything I hate right now.
2. Fruits you hate - How can you hate fruit? I'm not crazy about all fruits but I can't say I hate any fruit either.
3. Veggies that you hate - I guess it's obvious that I'll eat anything -- I'm not crazy about okra but I'll eat it in sinigang ang pinakbet.
4. Celebrities or people that you hate - Maybe I'm just not the type of person who "hates" anything or anybody -- leave them alone and do your own thing, is what I say.
5. Event/Incident/Situation that you hate - I don't hate this either but I don't like being put on the spot and going to parties where I don't know anyone because I'm on the shy side -- I'm just not cut-out to go for the Ms. Friendship award.
6. TV shows or movies that you hate - those trashy US talk shows where they make couples fight and scream bloody murder
7. Type of music that you hate - no heavy metal rock for me
8. Household chore that you hate - Cleaning the bathroom and washing the dishes! Actually, anything related to cleaning, period -- except my scraproom where I need to know where everything is.
9. Things you hate about the world - discrimination, injustice
10. Things you hate about yourself - I don't hate anything about myself although there are things I can improve on -- like cleanliness...haha

Yikes, this makes me look like such a boring person...hehe. Now I tag Pia, Iris, Liza, April, Mia Castrillo, Lee.
